From our research we found 74% of fans are still consuming Mets content daily during the offseason… and they finished 8 games below 500 (not good for you non stats types). This was really the opening pitch in understanding the target audience through research. Creating a brand that speaks like a fan or even acts like a fan is not enough here we have to always have hope like a fan.
We built a brand platform from the research and insights. During the naming process we dug deep into the teams history (quite possibly the most interesting part).
We created a logo inspired by the iconic shapes of traditional baseball marks, the city of New York and the Art Deco buildings of Queens. This was an opportunity to combine traditional sports signatures and a shinny new digital brand.
